Third Uva Provincial Water Supply Committee meeting was held on 16th June 2009, at 09:30 am at the Main Conference Hall of Uva Provincial Council, Badulla. Chaired by Chief Secretary of the Uva Province, the Committee comprised of stakeholders from the provincial and local levels of government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the province, which regulates and coordinates water and sanitation activities in Uva Province through better collaboration between the Government and NGOs.  |

| Centro Superior de Hosteleria de Galicia supports the efforts of the tourism and hotel sectors in Southern Province |
The sixth delegation from the Centro Superior de Hosteleria de Galicia (CSHG) arrived in Sri Lanka on 6th June 2009. They will conduct capacity-building workshops directed at professionals in the tourism sector and the students in the hotel management schools in Koggala and Bandarawela as well as promotional campaigns aimed at school leavers for the two hotel schools.  |

| Introducing organic home gardening to students in the Sothern Province schools |
AGSL South initiated the first phase of the awareness programmes on organic home gardening in the selected schools in the Southern Province. The first programme was conducted in Unwatuna Maha Vidyalaya, Galle on 21st of May, while the other two programmes were conducted in Modarawana Maha Vidyalaya, Hambantota and Meepawala Amarasuriya Maha Vidyalaya, Galle on 28th and 29th of May respectively.  |
