The construction of the new Ayurvedic medical centre in Mulatiyana was completed recently within the partnership of AGSL and Mulatiyana Pradeshiya Sabha (PS). The opening of the new centre organized by the Mulatiyana PS took place on 20th April, 2009 with the participation of the representatives from relevant provincial authorities, institutes and organizations and the people of the Mulatiyana area.
The Southern Provincial Council has established the Provincial Advisory Council for People with Disabilities as a prerequisite of the statute on the protection of the rights of the people with disabilities. This provincial advisory council is the first to be established at the provincial level in Sri Lanka.
