| Uva Province invites region of Umbria to support its efforts in strengthening the mental health services at the local level |
The Chief Secretary of the Uva Province, Mr. Amarasekera, sent an invitation to the region of Umbria in Italy, in which he welcomes a mission to the Uva Province to make a first assessment and discuss a partnership between the two regions in support of the implementation of the mental health plan in Uva. He welcomes such a decentralized cooperation initiative, within the framework of ART GOLD Sri Lanka Programme, in order to support Uva in its scope to implement innovative Provincial Mental Health Services, in accordance with the National Policy.  |

| IDEASS - UNDP Nicaragua facilitates cooperation with Sri Lanka |
Within the framework of the IDEASS Initiative, the ART GOLD Sri Lanka Programme (UNDP AGSL), with the support of the IDEASS International Secretariat in Italy, has intervened at a crucial time to obtain sample Leptospirosis Kits from Nicaragua. These sample kits were requested by the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka, to be tested at the Medical Research Institute (MRI) of Sri Lanka, since the incidence of rat fever has been increasing in alarming proportions recently in the country.  |
