Introducing technical material on early childhood care to Preschool teachers in the Southern Province The Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) resource centre established by AGSL in Galle has achieved many successes since its establishment in last April.    RUEDA is elected as the co-Chair of the Southern Provincial Industrial Development Forum The inaugural steering committee meeting of the Southern Provincial Industrial Development Forum (SPIDF) was held on 12th January 2009 with the participation of local stakeholders from the government, the private sector and civil society organizations.   Initial meeting of Uva Provincial Working Group On the 6th of January, the ART GOLD Sri Lanka Uva Provincial Working Group (UPWG) had its first meeting.    New Preschools from ART GOLD Sri Lanka to create a better learning environment for children in the Southern Province The Pradeshiya Sabhas of Hakmana in Matara and Ambalangoda in Galle soon will make use of the newly constructed preschools as a result of the efforts of AGSL in the education sector in the Southern Province.   Women empowerment project starts its first phase in Thawalama AGSL initiated Thawalama women empowerment project on 15th December at the Divisional Secretariat of Thawalama. The participants from various women organizations in the area and the Mothers Health Clubs were present at this first workshop on home gardening which proceeded with the second session on 29th December.
