Following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between AGSL and Commissioner of Local Government (CLG) to build the capacity of human resources of CLG Office, the training programme will be held from 7th to 10th November for newly recruited Programme Assistants and Management Assistants in Municipal Councils, Urban Councils and Pradesiya Sabha in Uva Province. The Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance (SLILG) will conduct the programme with the focus to improve the knowledge and understanding of participants on Public Policies, Rules and Regulation of the Government. There are about 45 staffs working at different capacities in CLG office coordinating 27 local authorities in both Monaragala and Badulla districts. Forty out of this will benefit from the training programme.
