Health: Sign language training programme

The third sign language training programme will commence on 29th October, 2009 at Southern Provincial Centre for Disabilities (SPCD) in Kalegana, Galle. This twelve-day training programme is planned to be conducted as two-day workshops till 4th December 2009. There will be thirty five participants to the programme, who are Special Education Teachers working with the person with disabilities in Southern Province. The Provincial Department of Education is partnering with AGSL to conduct the training programme.


Schedule of the sign language training programme:

Venue: SPCD, Kalegana
Dates: Every Week from Thursday to Friday

  • October: 29th and 30th
    November: 5th and 6th, 12th and 13th, 19th and 20th, 26th and 27th
    December: 3rd and 4th

By the completion of the course, the certificates will be awarded to the participants on the 4th December at the same premises, as the Commissioner of Probation and Childcare Service in Southern Province, the Director of Social Service of Southern Province and the Area Manager of AGSL will be the special invitees to the ceremony.
