As planned under the Ayurveda community health mobile clinic programme, three mobile Ayurveda health clinics will be organised in the month of October in Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts of the Southern Province. The clinics will be conducted in Small scale fisheries community centre in Hambantota on 22nd, on 29th in Mulatiyana and Handloom centre in Galle on 30th October 2009. There will be Five Community Medical Officers (COM) of Ayurveda who will provide medical assistance at the clinics and the community of the respective areas will also receive awareness on preventive health care. AGSL will provide Ayurveda medicine and equipment required for the clinics and the information dissemination material (leaflet on ayurveda preventive health care and posters) to the respective district offices to be used in the mobile clinics. The rural community who has limited access to health care facilities will be benefited by these clinics and they will be aware of how to practice preventive health care according to the means introduced by traditional medicine systems. The partners to the project are Secretary of Health, Southern Provincial Department of Ayurveda; Divisional Secretary (Mulatiyana, Thissamaharama and Ambalangoda); Medical officer of Health; Pradesheeya Sabha Chairman; Grama Niladari; Samurdhi Officer; Community Development officer and the Community Development Centers established by AGSL.
