There will be three workshop on Payroll system training in Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts. The workshop will be conducted on 15th, 20th and 27th October in respective PSs. These sessions has been planned after the needs assessment conducted in these Pradeshiya Sabhas under the productivity improvement for local authorities. The objective of this project is to improve the productivity of the services provided by the local authorities. Besides, the refreshing of the knowledge on office systems, council activities, rules, regulations and acts of the PSs and changing attitudes will be focused according to the identified needs of each PS. The other core topics discussed on awareness in productivity will be productivity improvement principals and methods, productivity improvement in the public sector and the best practices, office management systems in public sector and council procedures. The required training for the PSs in the areas of asset management, revenue collection, accountancy, etc. is seen as a primary requirement.

20th October: Niyagama and Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabhas
27th October: Mulatiyana and Weligama Pradeshiya Sabhas
The partners to the project are the Commissioner of Local Government (CLG) and the Assistant Commissioner of Local Government (ACLG). AGSL will facilitate PS and CLG to create a mechanism for the sustainability of the project.
