Mission

Paz y Desarrollo believes in supporting sustainable development processes in developing countries, implemented by them, development from their indigenous culture and taking into account their environment.

Vision:

PD aspires to be recognized for the struggle against poverty in the countries where we intervene. We intend to give technical and economical support, providing the resources to reach their self-development, promoting the knowledge and approach of our society to their problems, gaps, needs through advertising, social awareness and education in values, in order to promote a positive attitude towards a fairer and more caring world.

Principles:

1. To emphasize participation of people, organizations and societies on designing their policies and priorities, taking into consideration the past experiences of the least advantaged populations.
2. Reaching a sustainable development to eradicate poverty through self sustainable productive systems such as agriculture, livestock, forest and promoting basic structures, preventing health, and education through technology transfer, experience and knowledge.
3. Promoting values that guarantee the economic activity fulfills its main goal of providing enough resources and access to them in order people can develop themselves. Supporting social processes that transform social economic spheres: salaries and fairer distribution of resources, eradicate child labour and to promote gender equality.
4. To promote social welfare that guarantees people to develop their skills and potential, particularly in democratization, citizen participation, social justice, and gender equality within human rights.
5. To encourage governance and democracy process at municipal and regional level.
6. Promoting dialogue and cooperation with our local partnerships, based on respect and autonomy.

It is important to mention that Peace and Development is into a specialization process in Gender Equality. For the last few years our actions intend to focus on this sector. This specialization is also at internal level, there is restructuring process to integrate gender approach at all levels.
Sectorial and geographic priorities:

Peace and Development (Paz y Desarrollo) has been working since several years ago with disadvantaged communities in various countries of Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Our objective is not only to collaborate in the eradication of the poverty of those populations next to which we work, but also to fight against the causes of that poverty. In order to reach this aim, we invest in economic and human resources in places where inhabitants are able to impel changes to improve their own lives, and, as long as these people demand our collaboration.

Under the framework of the Millennium Goals and according to the efforts made by United Nations our Sectorial priorities are:
